LCFC Volunteers were dispatched to assist Station 62 (Ridge Fire Company) on a working brush fire in South Coventry Township. Units from Station 62 arrived to find 1.5 acres on fire and extending which prompted additional units to be dispatched. Brush 73 responded first, with Engine 73-5 going enroute shortly thereafter. Brush 73 arrived and made their way to the wood line to deploy lines into the woods. Engine 73-5 arrived behind Engine 64-5 and crews went to assist the brush crew in the woods. The crew from LCFC stretched lines deep into the woods to get to the head of the fire and prevent it from further spreading and then worked to extinguish the fire. Additionally, crews utilized multiple different hand tools and chainsaws to assist in the overhaul effort. Engine 73-5 supplied Engine 62-5 while on-scene. Crews from LCFC, Ridge, Norco, Kimberton, and Twin Valley operated for just under 2 hours before returning back to the station. After about an hour of work back at the station, LCFC crews had all hose and tools washed and back in-service.
