At 9:40 p.m.on Saturday night, LCFC was dispatched for an engine to assist Lionville Fire Company for a reported house fire on the 500 block of Ferncastle Drive in Uwchlan Township. West Whiteland Fire Company, Minquas Fire Company, and East Brandywine Fire Company were also on the box alarm. The initial report from the caller stated there was a fire in the basement of the residence.

While fire units were enroute. Uwchlan Police Department arrived on scene and advised of an active fire in the basement. Engine 47-2 arrived as first due engine with nothing showing from a two story single family dwelling. The crew from 47-2 then found a smoke condition in the basement and stretched an 1.75 inch line to the basement and quickly brought the fire under control. Engine 73-5 made the response and the crew assisted with ventilation once the fire was under control. The crew from LCFC was on scene for approximately 25 minutes before being cleared to return to quarters.
