| At approximately 4:15 p.m., LCFC volunteers and mutual aid partners were dispatched to the 200 block of Sweet Springs Road in East Nantmeal Township for a house fire. The initial report stated that the house was on fire, and a subsequent update from the 911 center indicated smoke was coming from the attic. The residents evacuated the home, and crews confirmed there was fire in the attic.
Glen Moore’s Fire Chief was the first fire officer to arrive and confirmed the situation. He requested a working fire dispatch and assumed command until Chief 73 arrived. Chief 73, Assistant 73, and Deputy 73 reached the scene together shortly after Chief 48. Chief 73 took command, Deputy 73 handled operations, and Assistant 73 alongside Chief 48 managed fire suppression.
During a 360 of the house, Deputy 73 reported visible fire through the roof on the rear (Charlie) side. Chief 73 requested two additional tankers based on this information. Engine 48-2 laid a supply line from Fairview Road and positioned at the front of the house, while Engine 73-5 set up at the rear. Assistant 73, Chief 48, and Captain 48 stretched a hose line to the Charlie side bedroom for fire attack. Simultaneously, the crew from 73-5 extended a second hose line up the deck steps on the Charlie side for additional fire attack. When the crew from 73-2 arrived, they assisted with opening the ceiling so firefighters could access and extinguish the fire in the attic. Engine 48-5 arrived and completed the supply line from Fairview Road. Engine 69-5 arrived and supplied 48-5
Tower 47 was assigned to open a vent hole in the roof. The tower crew used ground ladders to access the roof and perform ventilation. Ridge Fire Company crews assisted with opening walls and ceilings to locate any remaining fire and used salvage tarps to protect belongings from further damage.
East Brandywine crews set up for rapid intervention team (RIT) operations and also helped open the Bravo side wall near the roof peak to improve ventilation and check for fire spread.
After Chief 73 placed the fire under control, all crews except those from LCFC and Glen Moore were released. Firefighters worked to extinguish remaining hot spots in the attic. Engine 48-5 refilled water at the nearest hydrant, and crews began repacking hose lines and other equipment. LCFC crews were the last to leave the scene, going available around 7:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal’s office.
